my favorite place in armenia is garni. Garni is located in the Kotayk region in the center of Armenia:

from Yerevan to Garni is 27 km. You can get there in 40 minutes.

Symphony of stones
Armenia is famous for its impressive temples and mountains. Thousands of tourists from all over the world come to admire them. However, few people know that very close to Yerevan there is a unique natural monument “Symphony of Stones”. This attraction is located on one of the most popular tourist routes, but due to the bad road, tour guides often avoid it.

The object is a gorge, the rocks of which consist of huge basalt pillars hanging above the ground at a height of about 50 meters. Their special shape in the form of hexagons and vertical arrangement are very reminiscent of organ pipes, and therefore the monument received several names – “Stone Organ”, “Basalt Organ”, but is better known as “Symphony of Stones”. Also, some tourists compare the pillars to pencils.

Where is Symphony of Stones located?
The natural site is located in the Garni gorge, the Azat River flows along the rocks. Usually the monument is visited as part of excursions to the pagan temple of Garni and the monastery complex of Geghard. However, this place is not included in the popular route, as it is considered difficult to access. Independent travelers often get to the Stone Organ on foot or by bicycle.
